Peace Week: My Own Two Hands

It's Peace Week baby!

On the heels of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s day, it's Peace Week this week and it's all about peace, love, and empathy.

To get us started and in the right frame of mind, we tried a little yoga this morning, tried, being the operative word.  Little Mama did not want to sit down and participate so I found myself doing the poses alone.  There are several Yoga for Toddlers videos available on Youtube.  Here are the links to the two we tried: http://youtu.be/EmeTZGr_R5Q and http://youtu.be/vSXvrO4M2lg.  I'm going to keep trying.  Maybe one day she'll catch on and join me.

A little family coloring session before Daddy went off to work today...

Our peace signs
We talked about peace signs -- including the peace sign using our hands -- and how it sends a message of love to others.  Little Mama was excited to try making the peace sign.  With a little help, she finally got it.  Boy was there a huge smile to go with it, too!

Peace!

Our Peace March

Ok, this next activity may seem a little silly, but to Little Mama, she loved it.  We had a peace march and invited all her animal friends to join us.  Everyone welcome.

She has quite a few animals!

We found a some great songs to listen to for Peace Music.  Check out the Music page to listen for yourself.  Here's a particularly great one to end on ...
