Peace cards

Little Mama and I will be sending peace in the mail to our loved ones very soon. She and I set up a peace factory and made peace cards today.  Little Mama instinctively lined up all the doves and sorted out the hearts in an assembly-line fashion.  Then, with a little help from some glue, we assembled away.

Nothing says peace and happiness like a warm gingerbread cookie fresh from the oven.  I must confess, Little Mama and I both have a serious sweet tooth.  So, when I remembered I had some leftover frozen gingerbread dough from last week's gingerbread house activity, I quickly took out the dough, rolled it out, and invited Little Mama to cut out circles.

Using a knife, I cut out the peace symbols from the circles; however, looking at the cookies again, I realize I forgot to cut out the top/inside part.  Oops!  At least they tasted good!

Little Mama's Nobel Peace Prize

Tonight, Little Mama won her first Nobel Peace Prize.  I'm such a proud momma.  

I found this laminated picture of a dove from my mom's old teaching collection and taped it to a ribbon.  Voila--a medal!  Although, I must confess, the real Nobel Peace prize looks nothing like this.  Click here if you're curious about the real one. 

Little Mama deserved her medal.  She felt inspired to dole out hugs tonight when Daddy came home from work.  She went up to both of us, gave us each a hug, and told us she was "being loving."  Thank you Little Mama, thank you!  Three cheers for being so loving and kind!     

As part of peace week, we've been listening to some great music on Spotify (plus it's free)!  Dance Tunes of Many Lands, by Ella Jenkins has been Little Mama's favorite song, by far.  I'm pretty sure we've listened (and danced) to it at least ten times today.  Give it a try--it's lots of fun and guaranteed to have you moving to the beat.
